Welcome to Cool Sports Cars

Cool Sports Cars is a collection of articles on the off-the-charts coolest cars on the planet. I am an expert in exotic cars, muscle cars, super cars, concept cars, and other rare and unique automobiles. I’m not saying this is my life, but I really love to add cars to my database of over 5oo cars which make me very glad and amazed. I also live in a part of the United States which offers dozens of cool cars in dealerships. In just the past year, I’ve run my fingers over an Alfa Romeo 8C, a Ferrari Enzo, multiple Aston Martins, Bentleys, Maseratis, Lambos, Audi R8s, Porsches, and even a Lexus LF-A.

Needless to say, I’m a fanatic when it comes to sports cars.

Zenvo ST1

A Review And Specs On A Danish Automobile That Pushes (And Apparently Breaks) Sports Car Possibilities: The Zenvo ST1

Denmark, as far as car enthusiasts can tell, is a European country. Denmark is located just north of Germany, which is one of the top locations for car fanatics. Many neighboring European countries have been introduced to the sports car world, such as a revived Bugatti straight from Molsheim, France. Usually when new car companies start out in life, they make an impression, and then go bust because of the scarcity of money, an issue of bankruptcy, or too much competition from the big leagues. Denmark, I’m sure, is filled with automotive geeks and connoisseurs, like a lot of nations in Europe. Now, Denmark has made their very first supercar; and it’s a very astonishing automobile for the few lucky would-be Zenvo drivers.

Zenvo ST1: Denmark’s first supercar titan

The Zenvo ST1 was in development since 2004, until it made its debut at the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans parade. The car was made on the Danish island of Zealand, in the town of Præstø. The ST1 got raving reviews when it first came to road testers’ hands. It was immensely fast, but was easy to drive, and user-friendly. It has a ferociously beefed up 7.0L engine from a Corvette Z06. The engine is already large, but Zenvo bothered to stuff it with supercharger and a turbocharger, which brings the power output to over 1,100 hp! It would be so fast when driven, it deserves to add the shift key to its name and be called the ST!, because it is extremely exciting. The Zenvo ST1 itself is made from carbon fiber, which explains its light curb weight of just over 3,000 lbs. It borrows many of its gadgets such as the airbags, ABS, and traction control from many American and German cars. Its interior is actually pretty impressive, unlike a lot of other independent supercars. As marvelous as the Zenvo ST1 is, there’s a good chance that you will not see this car anytime soon. Zenvo had decided to make just 15 examples of the ST1. It’s even rarer than the Lamborghini Reventón coupe, which costs about the same. In 2011, it was announced that the Zenvo ST1 would finally be coming to the United States. The U.S-spec car is pretty much the same as the one originally sold in Europe, except for one rather significant advantage in horsepower. It’s a colossal 146 hp advantage, to be precise. The Zenvo ST1  for us Yanks will also be called the Zenvo ST1 50S (50 States, maybe?), and the 50S is limited to only three cars, making it one of the rarest supercars you’ll ever see in America. Along with every purchase of this fine car, the wealthy customer will get a free Zenvo watch that is valued to be about $50,000. The ST1 50S is being distributed by Red Sea Distributi0ns in Anaheim, California. The Zenvo ST1 has proven itself to be a unique, but abstruse car that breaks many boundaries, but doesn’t have much availability to prove its eminence. However, the ST1 has been tested by people who have the chance to, and it is an extraordinary experience to drive it.

Zenvo ST1 Specs

The Euro-spec Zenvo ST1 has a supercharged and turbocharged 7.0L V-8 that makes 1,104 hp, making it do 0-60mph in 3 seconds, a quarter mile in about 10.3 seconds, and a limited top speed of 233mph, with a price of (in England) £750,000. The Zenvo ST1 50S has a supercharged and turbocharged 7.0L V-8 that makes 1,250 hp, making it do 0-60mph in under 3 seconds, a top speed limited to 233mph, and a price of about $1.8 million.

The reason why this special car is so rare is because of its special and unique qualities, according to the company’s founder, Jesper Jensen. Cars from the Ferrari 250 GTO to the Bugatti Veyron are legendary, and are special cars. The things cars like these have in common are their gigantic prices, and their rarity. What Jensen says is that his company should stay true to a statement like: “The less common a supercar is, the more special it becomes.” This statement makes Zenvo want to achieve great automotive heights by making a unique car, but a limited production run, for exclusive customers. Not only does it take a stand at hypercars owned by Arabian millionaires in terms of speed, but its rather truculent looks makes a thorough impression. I can see that the Zenvo ST1 has design language similar to cars like the Audi R8 and the Lotus Evora. But the rear, face, and overall shape are all, overall, idiosyncratic compared to most cars. The ST1 is a car to be respected, and a car to love. If only Zenvo could make another brilliant sports car along with it… So don’t think of the Zenvo ST1 as just another souped-up hypercar; think of it as the best souped-up hypercar you’ve never heard of.
